Brochure: Reaching Out Our Hands
OA is developing a new publication and wants to hear you experience, strength, and hope on the topics of body image, sexuality, and relationships.
For further information, see the attached ad that just appeared in Oct Lifeline. It will also appear in the next Service Body mailing, A Step Ahead, monthly News Bulletin, and What’s New.
We will have our 5th Friday meeting Friday, May 29th, at the Hinds Building at 7:00 p.m. The next day, Saturday, May 30, there is an Intergroup meeting at the same location. We will meet as soon as possible after leaving the 10 a.m. OA Meeting at Shades of Hope, arriving at the Natural Foods Center 2534 S. 7th in Abilene around 11:20. Then we will move to the Hinds Building for our regular Intergroup quarterly meeting followed immediately by a “Board Retreat” the quotation marks saying that’s the name, that you’re welcome to come if you meet the criteria: having a desire to stop eating compulsively.
The location of the Hinds Building and the room: 100 Chestnut, Hinds Square Building, Suite 112 (Come in south door, it’s the first door on the right.) If we cannot unlock the south door, the front door will be unlocked.
THIS IS A CHANGE FROM THE ANNOUNCED LOCATION AT THE HOME OF ONE OF OUR MEMBERS.
Come one, come all, to any and all of these events! Let it rain showers of blessings if it rains.
The Region 3 Unity with Diversity Committee asks that you consider this question in your meeting sometime this month:
What measures do we take to provide meeting access to OA members who have challenges such as mental or physical disabilities or illnesses, or those who have allergies? What about those who have small children or those who rely on public transportation?
Three Abilene meetings have recently made changes. The biggest one, and the one that could leave you at the wrong place, deals with the Wednesday morning 8:00 a.m. meeting. Beginning Wednesday, February 4th, the meeting will discontinue gathering at Mission Abilene and move to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 3150 Vogel Street, Abilene, TX 79603. This is Group Number 47781. The location is far northwest Abilene. Here is a link to the location on Google Maps.
And here is an image of the building.
Two meetings, Sunday morning at Mission Abilene, and Monday noon at Hinds Square have adopted a meeting format involving the use of the Overeaters Anonymous Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions Workbook. Members write answers to questions about the steps from the workshop and share their writings during the meeting.
What are other groups doing? Let us put your news here! Email email@example.com.
